The variety Detroit Migliorata is a synonym for the Detroit variety. The period from emergence to harvest is 85–120 days. The leaf rosette is compact, semi-erect. Root crops have a round shape, smooth skin, and a thin, short taproot.
The flesh of the root crops is dark red and is distinguished by a sweet taste. The sugar content ranges from 12.3% to 14.2%, dry matter from 17.6% to 20.4%. The root crops are suitable for fresh consumption, cooking, canning, and winter storage for up to 7.5 months.
The plants show resistance to major foliage diseases, bolting, and possess good cold hardiness.
