The Carpinese variety is a local Italian variety of folk selection. Its fruits are distinguished by a brown color with reddish hues, have a dense skin and high nutritional value. Crop ripening occurs in October.
Trees of this variety have good winter hardiness, but are sensitive to strong winds and susceptible to the chestnut gall wasp. Pollinator varieties are required to obtain a yield, as the tree is not self-pollinating.
1 jurisdiction
Green indicates countries where the variety is listed in the national catalogue and its seeds are authorized for sale. Expired registrations are marked separately: the variety was previously admitted, but sale is no longer permitted.
