PEDRO URQUIJO LANDALUCE
10 August 2026
The tree is distinguished by vigorous growth, a rounded crown shape, and a spreading habit. The flowering type of the cultivar is protandrous or homogamous, with late flowering times.
Fruits are of medium size, weighing about 10 g, brown in color with a cream-colored kernel. The cultivar is polyembryonic. When grafted, it enters the fruiting stage in the fourth year; the seeds have high germination capacity of about 78.5%.
The cultivar has good graft compatibility with a number of French and Romanian chestnut cultivars. It was bred to increase productivity, precocity, and adaptation to local growing conditions.
