The variety is a female genotype belonging to the rustic category, well-adapted to harsh climatic conditions, including calcareous soils and salinity. Trees are successfully grown under rain-fed conditions without irrigation, and the variety is monitored for carob powdery mildew infection.

The chemical profile of the fruit is distinguished by a high cellulose content and significant antioxidant activity of the pulp. Compared to other local varieties, it may have lower fructose levels, while the physicochemical characteristics of the fruit vary significantly depending on growing conditions.

The variety is used in traditional agriculture, as well as in the food industry as a raw material for obtaining functional ingredients and extracts. The harvest on Mallorca typically occurs from September to October, although exact morphological parameters depend on the habitat.
