The DE RAMELL variety, also known as Vermella de Ramell or Ramell, is a product of folk selection and long-term adaptation to the Mediterranean climate of the Balearic Islands. It is an object of work on the conservation of genetic resources.

The main agronomic feature of this variety is its high productivity in terms of seed output. The variety is traditionally cultivated in arid climate conditions, demonstrating high adaptability to local growing conditions.
