The E 13P variety (also known as H-2-12) is a hermaphrodite clone with moderate growth vigor, intended for the intensification of plantations. Trees begin fruiting in the 3rd–4th year after grafting and are characterized by high adaptability to arid conditions, calcareous soils, and salinity.
The fruits of the variety are medium-sized, with the key economic characteristic being a high seed yield exceeding 16%. Due to this, the variety has a dual purpose, providing raw materials for the food, cosmetic, and pharmaceutical industries, while also serving as an effective pollinator for other carob varieties.
