The tree of this variety is distinguished by a large habit. The pods have a characteristic curved shape, which gave the variety its name "donkey rib"; they are distinguished by great length and a certain thinness.
The variety has a high yield and is well adapted to Mediterranean conditions: it is resistant to drought, salinity, and growth on poor calcareous soils. The pods contain relatively little pulp and sugar, which is why the variety is used more as forage rather than for food.
