The plant is a large multi-stemmed shrub with a broad crown shape. In a number of classifications, the variety is mentioned in lists of forms with red leaf coloration, and the variety name translated from Dutch means "red-kernelled Lombard nut".
The fruits of the variety have a pleasant taste, however, due to their small size, the variety has not found application in industrial production. The main purpose of the crop is the pollination of other hazelnut varieties. The variety is adapted to the temperate climate conditions of Europe.
