Variety description

The plant forms a dense clump with dark green leathery foliage, reaching a height of 30–50 cm. The nodding flowers are located on reddish-brown stems; the buds have a peach-pink hue, are creamy-white inside upon opening and pink on the outside, later acquiring a greenish tone.

The flowering of the variety can last up to 7 months, starting from November-December and continuing until May, which is ensured by the sterility of the flowers and the lack of seed formation. The plant has winter hardiness in USDA zones 5–8, prefers partial shade and humus-rich drained soils.

The variety is used in ornamental gardening as an early-flowering crop for mixed borders, plantings under trees, and container cultivation. The plant is poisonous if ingested, and contact with the sap can cause skin irritation.
