The variety is the result of the Hopsteiner breeding program and was obtained by crossing the varieties Nugget, Zeus, and the male plant USDA 19058. During the development process, it bore the experimental number 06277, was known as Denali from 2016, and was renamed Sultana™ in 2019.

The plant belongs to late-maturing varieties, is characterized by vigorous vertical growth, and forms large, resin-rich cones. The yield of the variety is 3000–3350 kg/ha. The crop possesses tolerance to powdery mildew, while it may show susceptibility to downy mildew.

The variety is suitable for both bittering and flavoring beer. The aromatic profile includes notes of pineapple, lemon, grapefruit, pine, and spices. The chemical composition is characterized by an alpha-acid content of 13.0–16.0%, beta-acid content of 3.5–7.0%, cohumulone of 22–26%, and a total oil content of 3.0–4.5 ml/100 g.
