The variety is an aromatic hop cultivar of Czech breeding, related to the Kazbek variety. It belongs to the late maturity category and possesses good resistance to downy mildew.

The yield of the variety is 1400–2000 kg/ha. The chemical composition includes an alpha-acid content of 6.0–8.5%, beta-acids of about 4.0%, and essential oils of 0.68–1.57%.

The aromatic profile of the variety is characterized as citrusy, with notes of tropical fruits and herbal undertones. Eris is intended for use in brewing, primarily for late additions and dry hopping.
