The rootstock is classified as intermediate in vigor, occupying a niche between M.9 and M.26. It is intended for use in intensive plantings to control tree vigor and ensure good productivity.
In a number of studies, the rootstock demonstrated cold hardiness comparable to Ottawa 3 and M.26, however, under extreme conditions, such as Eastern Siberia, it showed sensitivity to low temperatures. Publications also mention its resistance to certain viral diseases, including tomato ringspot virus.
