The variety is a small tree or large shrub reaching a height of 2 to 7 meters with a spreading crown. The leaves are ovate or oblong, often lobed, with a characteristic ability to acquire orange-red shades in the autumn period.
The plant is valued for its semi-double or double flowers of a white or white-pink shade, blooming in late April or May. The variety has winter hardiness in the temperature range of –23 to –28°C, is resistant to urban conditions, and tolerates crown pruning.
