Features of the rootstock include wood brittleness at the graft union, which necessitates the mandatory installation of support or a trellis for the trees. Propagation is difficult due to the formation of lateral thorns on shoots in the stool bed, and the rootstock itself is characterized by susceptibility to woolly apple aphid.
