The rootstock is a hybrid derived from crossing Malling 27 (M.27) and Robusta 5 cultivars. Trees on this rootstock reach 50–60% of the size of trees on vigorous rootstocks, with growth potentially being slightly higher than on M.26 rootstock.
The plant has good anchorage, though it may require support in the first years after planting. During cultivation, the rootstock may produce root suckers, which are recommended to be removed. It ensures high precocity and productivity of the cultivars grafted onto it.
