The G 30 rootstock is comparable in vigor to M.26, M.7, or MM.106. It is characterized by high precocity and productivity, often exceeding the performance of the M.26 rootstock.
The plant possesses high resistance to fire blight, Phytophthora root rot, and tolerance to replant disease, but is susceptible to woolly apple aphid. Due to the brittleness of the wood and the risk of snapping at the graft union during the first years of fruiting, the installation of support is mandatory.
Propagation can be difficult due to the formation of a large number of side spikes on the shoots of mother bushes. There is information regarding compatibility features of this rootstock with the Gala apple variety.
