The tree reaches a height of 4–6 meters and has a rounded, spreading crown. The leaves are oblong-ovate with serrated edges, turning orange, red, or copper tones in the autumn.
Flowering occurs in late spring. The flowers are large, double, pink-white in color, and fragrant. The fruits are small, spherical, greenish or dark red in color, and are not intended for consumption.
The plant is frost-hardy and moderately drought-tolerant once established. It prefers well-drained soils and is sensitive to waterlogging. The variety exhibits resistance to powdery mildew but may be affected by scale insects and aphids.
