The tree has a rounded or broadly spreading crown 4–5 meters wide. In spring, fragrant flowers of a deep pink or carmine shade bloom from dark red buds. The leaves change color throughout the season: from bronze in spring to dark green in summer and golden-orange or red-orange in autumn.
Small fruits with a diameter of 1–1.5 cm are initially bright red, turning orange after frosts. The variety has a winter hardiness zone of 4. Resistance to rust and powdery mildew is rated as excellent, to fire blight as satisfactory, and to scab as low.
The plant has an exclusively decorative purpose and is used in landscape design for creating hedges, alley plantings, or as a specimen plant. The fruits remain on the branches for a long time, serving an aesthetic function and attracting birds.
