The rootstock is dwarfing and is used for growing apple saplings. Like other representatives of the M.9 group, it ensures the production of trees of small height. The use of this rootstock is characteristic of intensive fruit growing, where it promotes the rapid entry of plants into the fruiting phase.
The root system of the rootstock is not sufficiently strong and anchors poorly in the soil, so trees grafted onto it require mandatory installation of supports throughout their entire life. The rootstock possesses sensitivity to severe frosts, which, in conditions of snowless winters, requires the use of special protective measures, such as hilling.
