M 9 B.2 is a product of German breeding and is one of the clones of the well-known M.9 rootstock. This rootstock underwent comparative trials at the Research Institute of Horticulture (ISK) in Poland, where its influence on the development and productivity of various apple varieties was studied.
As a rootstock, M 9 B.2 belongs to the dwarfing group and provides trees with moderate growth vigor. In terms of its morphological characteristics and the productivity of the varieties grafted onto it, it is comparable to standard M.9 clones used in commercial fruit growing.
