M 9 B.3 ISK is a clone of the world-famous dwarfing rootstock M.9. The ISK designation indicates the breeding work of the Research Institute of Horticulture and Floriculture in Poland, where the specific rootstock line was tested and selected for local conditions.
Trees grafted onto this rootstock reach a height of 2.5–3 meters and are characterized by early entry into fruit-bearing in the second to third year. Due to a fragile root system and shallow anchorage in the soil, the trees require the installation of permanent supports throughout the entire growing period. The rootstock is characterized by sensitivity to drought and requires regular irrigation.
