The variety is a historical local cultivar cultivated in the Savona province since the 12th century. The tree is distinguished by a specific crown shape with branches directed upwards, which sets it apart from varieties with a weeping branch habit.
The fruits of the variety have a late maturity group and are characterized by a small size. The plant is capable of tolerating low temperatures. The oil obtained from these olives is distinguished by a high content of polyphenols, herbaceous notes in the taste, and a slight bitterness.
