The name COLOMBINA appears in olive growing literature as a synonym for the widely distributed cultivar Leccino or as a designation for an autochthonous cultivar in the Liguria region. In the latter case, the name may also refer to a historical type of stone used for olive millstones.
A separate description of the cultivar as an independent breeding unit is absent. Studies mentioning this cultivar concern the fatty acid profile of the produce, as well as plant viability trials under various methods of agrotechnology and fertilizer application.
