The variety is intended for processing and is highly valued for its organoleptic properties in the Alentejo region. The flesh-to-pit ratio is approximately 4.7. The variety is included in programs for the study of phenology and adaptation to the Mediterranean climate.

This genetic resource is recognized as suitable for use within the framework of the Protected Designation of Origin (DOP) system "Azeitonas de Conserva de Elvas e Campo Maior". The crop is studied and preserved in a collection of reference varieties by the INIAV institute in Portugal.
