The Corbella variety is an ancient local cultivar originating from the Cardener river valley in Spain. The fruit of the variety are medium-sized, have a characteristic asymmetrical crescent shape, and turn black upon full maturity. The pit is large, elongated, with a rough surface.
The plant possesses resistance to common pests and diseases of olive trees. The variety is considered productive, and the time of harvest has a significant influence on the composition and stability of the oil.
The oil obtained from these olives has a mild taste without pronounced bitterness, with characteristic notes of fruit and flowers. The composition features a high content of polyphenols and oleocanthal.
