The DI CASAVECCHIA variety is distinguished by active crown growth, the volume of which is more than twice the average of the studied samples in the Tuscan collection. Due to this characteristic, the variety was considered potentially suitable for use as a source of wood.
The plant is characterized by a low percentage of fruit set during self-pollination and belongs to the group of varieties with limited distribution. The variety is a traditional genetic material that is being studied as part of scientific work on the inventory of the gene pool and organoleptic evaluation of the oil.
