The variety has the synonyms Manzanilla de Jaén and Gordalejo. Its productivity for oil production is considered low due to low yield; therefore, the primary use of the fruits is for table consumption. Pit-to-flesh separation in this variety is difficult.
The plant differs from the Gordal Sevillano variety in fruit size, yield indicators, and resistance to diseases such as olive knot and the fungal disease «repilo». The variety is classified as a traditional local cultivar, and precise agronomic parameters are available in a limited form.
