The GORDAL DEL SOMONTANO tree has an open-type crown of medium density. The leaves are characterized by a relatively small size and an elliptical-lanceolate shape.

The fruits are large and spherical in shape. The pit is symmetrical with respect to the base and is equipped with a point at the apex.

The variety is classified as a rare cultivar and matures late. It is used in the production of olive oil under the Protected Designation of Origin Aceite del Somontano.
