The variety is a local clone selected from natural olive populations in Cyprus. It is a specialized oil-bearing variety not intended for table consumption.

The fruits are characterized by their small size, with a mass of 3–4 g. The variety is distinguished by high oil content, with oil content in the fruits reaching 26–27%.

In the course of agronomic studies, the variety was classified as susceptible to the pathogen Verticillium dahliae, which causes Verticillium wilt.
