The LANTESCA tree has a medium-sized trunk and an upright crown. The leaves are characterized by an elliptical lanceolate shape, being short and wide. The fruits are of medium size, oval and asymmetrical in shape, although small-fruited forms also occur.

Fruit ripening occurs between the last week of October and the first week of November. The tree has a high flowering capacity, but is extremely sensitive to weather conditions and requires plenty of sunlight. The variety is characterized by low yields and high susceptibility to the olive fruit fly.

The variety is used exclusively for the production of extra virgin olive oil. The resulting product has a light fruity aroma with notes of almond, pine nuts, grass, and artichoke. The taste of the oil is balanced, containing light bitterness and pungency with no pronounced bitterness.
