Trees of this variety possess high growth vigor. The variety is characterized as demanding in terms of maintenance, particularly requiring significant time investment for pruning. Yields of the variety are irregular and exhibit biennial bearing.

The fruits are relatively small in size and characterized by a low oil content. The olive oil obtained from them is distinguished by pronounced aromas of artichoke, green walnut, and freshly cut grass, while the taste combines bitterness, pungency, astringency, and sweetness.

The variety is included in the lists of genetic resources for olive trees in Spain. Due to cultivation difficulties and low economic efficiency compared to mass-market varieties, MENYA is classified in a number of publications as endangered.
