Variety description

10 August 2026

The variety is indigenous to Italy and is part of the Tuscan gene pool. The main purpose of the fruit is the production of olive oil, which is characterized by complex organoleptic properties with a pronounced spicy nuance, notes of almond, artichoke, and green leaves.

In terms of agricultural practice, Mignolo is most often considered as an auxiliary pollinator variety, in particular for the Frantoio variety. This variety belongs to the category of ancient landrace varieties and often appears in scientific literature as a component of local biodiversity.
