The tree is vigorous, with a spreading crown. The fruits are small, weighing 1.6–1.7 g, obovate-elongated in shape, and black when fully ripe. The variety is self-sterile and requires the presence of pollinators, while it is often used itself as a pollinator for the Carolea variety.

The variety is early in terms of fruit color change, however, the ripening process is late and gradual. It is hardy to adverse factors, resistant to leaf spot (peacock spot), but sensitive to infestation by the olive fruit fly and leprosy (cycloconium oleaginum).

It is used exclusively as an oil variety. The oil yield ranges from 17 to 20%. The product has a medium-intense fruity profile with notes of apple, almond, grass, and artichoke, as well as a balanced taste with bitterness and pungency.
