The variety was obtained as a result of breeding seedlings from open pollination. The plant is distinguished by vigorous growth and a reduced time until the onset of fruiting. The tree is characterized by late flowering.

The fruits are used for oil production and for consumption as table olives. The resulting oil has a mild taste with an aroma of almonds, similar in its characteristics to oil from the Lucques variety.
