Ottobratico and Rotondello are traditional varieties common in the province of Reggio Calabria. The Ottobratico variety is named after the fruit ripening time in October and has an obovate shape, while Rotondello fruits are characterized by a rounded shape. Both varieties are small-fruited, with fruit dimensions of about 12–14 mm in length and 8–10 mm in width.
The varieties are classified as oil-bearing crops intended for the production of Extra Virgin olive oil. They are distinguished by a high oil content with relatively low fruit fleshiness. Ottobratico oil has an intense green color, a fruity aroma with notes of grass, artichoke, and green tomato, as well as distinct pungency and bitterness.
Ottobratico trees are prone to irregular bearing with alternating productive and unproductive years, which complicates their commercial cultivation. These varieties are not breeding selections and represent historically established cultural forms that require professional care.

Green indicates countries where the variety is listed in the national catalogue and its seeds are authorized for sale. Expired registrations are marked separately: the variety was previously admitted, but sale is no longer permitted.
