Passareira is an autochthonous Portuguese variety that is being studied as part of an evaluation of olive oil quality, including fatty acid composition, phenol content, and sensory characteristics. The variety shows no signs of being an artificially bred cultivar.
Detailed morphological and agronomic characteristics of the variety, such as maturity group or disease resistance, are not presented in open scientific sources. Available data are limited to mentions of the variety in comparative studies of Portuguese cultivars.
