The tree reaches 5–7 meters in height at maturity. The fruits have a cylindrical or conical shape, with an average weight of about 1.2 g and a pulp-to-pit ratio of 5:1. The oil content in the fruits reaches 25%. The variety possesses moderate cold tolerance.

The variety is late-maturing: harvesting is usually carried out from November to December; however, to obtain oil with specific properties, early harvesting from late September to October is possible. The main purpose is the production of Extra Virgin oil. It has many synonyms, the most common of which is Koutsourelia.
