The Paschixedda variety, also known as Nera di Villacidro, is a traditional Sardinian variety. Genetically, it is closely related to the Nera di Oliena variety, which may indicate its descent from a common ancestor or a mutation. The name of the variety translates as "little Easter" and indicates the late ripening period of the fruit, which coincides with the Christmas season.

The plant belongs to oil-bearing varieties and is distinguished by a high oil content in the fruit. The variety is characterized by good productivity with an expression of alternate bearing. In agronomic practice, Paschixedda is also used as a pollinator for other Sardinian varieties, in particular for the Bosana variety.
