The plant belongs to low-vigor types and has a characteristic pendulous crown with long, drooping shoots of medium density. The leaves are elliptical in shape and of medium size; the inflorescences are short and medium-sparse with a moderate number of flowers.
The olive fruits are of medium size and have an elongated shape. The oil obtained from this variety is valued in local Tuscan blends, and the content of certain volatile compounds, such as LnA-C5, reaches approximately 11%.
Scientific literature notes difficulties in identifying the variety due to genetic heterogeneity of samples in collections. Some specimens labeled as Pendagliolo are genetically identical to other cultivars, such as Frantoio, or remain unidentified.
