The Puntuža variety, also known as Puntoža or Buža puntoža, is an oil-bearing crop. In scientific research, the variety is primarily studied in the context of the composition of phenolic compounds in the leaves, where a significant concentration of flavonoids, such as luteolin-7-O-glucoside, is noted.
This variety is a product of folk selection and has a long history of cultivation in Croatia. Currently, Puntuža is officially recognized as a variety suitable for olive oil production and is included in the variety lists of a number of countries in the region.
