The variety belongs to the Amarellen or Griotte type of cherries with colorless juice, similar to the Montmorency type. In historical terminology, it is sometimes incorrectly classified as a sweet cherry, however, its characteristics and culinary purpose correspond to a sour cherry.
The fruits ripen at mid-early times. The variety is intended for processing: making sauces, jams, liqueurs, and specific types of beer. Nursery seedlings are available as high-stem, half-stem, and bush forms.
Data on resistance to specific diseases are absent. Like many cherry varieties, the fruits are prone to cracking under high humidity during the ripening period.
1 jurisdiction
Green indicates countries where the variety is listed in the national catalogue and its seeds are authorized for sale. Expired registrations are marked separately: the variety was previously admitted, but sale is no longer permitted.
