The tree is noted for its very strong growth and forms an open canopy with upward-growing branches. The variety comes into bearing moderately early and demonstrates regular yields.

Flowering occurs in the mid-season, later than the Zachte Kassin, Vroege van Werder, and Mierlose Zwarte varieties, but earlier than the Markies variety. The general health of the tree is good, although there is a susceptibility to bacterial canker on light soils.
