The Gorsemkriek variety, also known by the synonym Craulus 90, is an industrial variety of Prunus cerasus. The fruits of the variety possess a pronounced sour and bitter taste, which makes them in demand for the production of jams, preserves, jellies, and canning, as well as a key ingredient for Belgian kriek-style beer.
The plant is vigorous, hardy, and self-fertile. The variety shows good winter hardiness and is considered undemanding in terms of growing conditions, while preferring deep and well-drained soils. In agronomic standards, the variety is recognized as a reference for conducting Prunus cerasus trials.
