The rootstock is a hybrid of the sour cherry variety Schattenmorelle and Prunus canescens. Trees grafted onto it reach 65–75% of the height of similar plants on standard seedling rootstocks. Trees are characterized by early onset of bearing, typically in the third year after planting.
Plants on this rootstock possess good anchorage, although they may require additional support in the first years after planting. The rootstock shows resistance to Coccomyces hiemalis, making it a significant subject in the breeding of resistant fruit crop varieties.
