The rootstock is one of the most dwarfing, limiting the vigor of the scion compared to standard seedling rootstocks of Prunus avium. Trees on this rootstock are distinguished by the early onset of fruit bearing, however, fruits may be smaller in size compared to using the Colt rootstock.
The plant possesses good winter hardiness. The main biological drawback is high susceptibility to Phytophthora. In modern practice, application is limited due to problems with disease resistance and competition with more stable rootstocks of the Gisela series.
