The rootstock provides tree vigor at 65–75% of standard wild cherry seedlings. Plants grafted onto it possess good winter hardiness and a developed root system that does not require mandatory support.
The plant is sensitive to excess soil moisture, prone to root collar rot, and susceptible to Phytophthora. It shows physiological compatibility with most modern varieties, however, it may be incompatible with some varieties, such as 'Summit'.
