This form is a local ecotype that emerged as a result of natural adaptation to hilly and mountainous terrain conditions. Within breeding programs, this genetic material was excluded from trials due to very low yield.
Plants are characterized by the ability to grow in poor, arid soils. The fruits are small, have a dark, almost black skin and intensely colored acidic flesh. They are traditionally used for the production of wine, liqueurs, jams, and for preparing desserts, rather than for fresh consumption.
