The rootstock is intended for grafting plums, peaches, nectarines, apricots, and ornamental Prunus species. Trees grafted onto it do not grow large. It is important to use vegetatively propagated clonal forms, as seedlings demonstrate significant growth variability and potential incompatibility.

The plant is prone to forming abundant root suckers, especially when roots are damaged. Trees on this rootstock may exhibit sensitivity to drought conditions and are susceptible to leaf scorch. It is propagated primarily by root cuttings; propagation by layering is difficult.

Under modern conditions, the rootstock is considered historical and has been replaced in many regions by more advanced analogues due to insufficient stress tolerance and high suckering capacity.
