The fruits of this variety are characterized as round, having yellow skin and yellow flesh. Ripening occurs in the second half of July; fruits may ripen at the end of the 'Shiro' harvest season. The tree is distinguished by moderate vigor, and the variety possesses good productivity.
In scientific literature, confusion is noted: some samples of 'Great Yellow' are identical to the 'Shiro' variety according to genetic testing results. There are assumptions regarding a possible link between the variety and plumcots. The taxonomic classification remains a subject of debate, as the breeder specialized in working with Japanese plums and interspecific hybrids.
