Kreeke is a collective name for a group of ancient plum forms, which in botanical literature are classified as Prunus domestica ssp. acuticarpa. These are fast-growing trees or shrubs 3–4 meters in height with foliage that resembles a cross between a wild plum and a sloe.
The fruits are about 3 cm in size and often round in shape with a pointed pit. The plants are distinguished by high vitality and the ability to grow in poor soils. In the modern landscape, they are used primarily as historical forms for the conservation of biodiversity, the creation of hedges, or windbreaks.
